Allard has over thirty-five years of experience in planning and design work, with emphasis on educational
and institutional facilities. In addition to private architectural practice, he has worked for the Department
of Planning and Urban Renewal, Akron, Ohio, Florida International University, Miami, Florida, and at
Vanderbilt University where he served as University Architect for eighteen years. His project work
has included planning and development of new campuses, development of large educational/research
complexes, and small detailed renovation projects; including restorations of over thirty historic buildings.
Many projects have been recognized with local and national awards and publications.
